The Illusion of Knowledge

Thanks to Kindra Crick for the photograph.

the illusions of knowledge
allow us to feel
like the world isn’t scary
its comfy and kind
as the craggy rocks below
approach ever closer
ever faster

    • Agreed, but I believe its the fact that we are unwilling to accept that we don’t know more than we think we do. We take comfort in the fact that our world; which is constantly shifting and fluid, feels like a static environment. The route to works always the same. The floor is there when you wake up. We fool ourselves into having more knowledge of our world than we do so we aren’t overwhelmed. It’s not denial of the impending doom that we construct, its denial of what it means in the context of our own experience.
