Σειρῆνες

Thanks to Whos That Girl for the photograph. More on Sirens.

seductive lips reach out to me
pulling ever near
the cold crisp salty taste
of a soft embrace
the curve of your body
as its pressed against mine
eternals be damned
I’ll take the hand
that leads me hither
to the brine
in my dreams
Aglaope, Thelxiepeia, and Peisinoe
romp and play
with anthropophagy
in time to fade
as their song sends shivers
as their lips once did
till silence brings the dark

That is fine poetry, up there. The alliteration, the consonance — poetry requires an ear and mind for these. Those two lines pack quite a punch. Dial into that.

    Happy writing.
